It was not Christmas until that Boney M Christmas album was blaring from the radio at the corner of the living room. The smell of chapatis and nyama choma wafting through the air, the last cackle of the hen before it became the highlight meal of the day, the new outfits, friends and family gathered together. Oh, and there had to be soda. A full crate. Otherwise, Christmas would not be complete. Christmas was the Cypress trees - yes, we didn’t have the luxury of the now-more-readily available recyclable trees. Oh, the aroma of that Cypress Christmas tree... Nostalgic!
