Scorpio Villas is a budget accommodation in Malindi, Kenya. It offers you not just a relaxed, casual atmosphere for your seaside vacation on the Indian Ocean, but is located close to the main town of Malindi so you can take a short transfer ride of less than one mile for a meal in one of the local restaurants or for a personal, cultural exploration foray.

Features

Scorpio is a three-acre villa property of well-kept gardens, preserved shady with lush indigent vegetation of gently rustling palm trees, stately baobabs and pretty bougainvillea. Carefully manicured lawns and distinct pathways around the resort add to its charm. Note that the hotel is not located on the beach. It is a short walk way through an internal pathway to the sands and expansive ocean.

Accommodation:

This mid-size resort has 46 rooms located in dual storey buildings that are constructed Swahili style with sloping, makuti thatch roofs and furnished with Lamu furniture.
East African objets d'art are placed everywhere to give you the impression of living in a neo-traditional Swahili home.
The rooms at the resort offer non-frill comfort and have the basic amenities characteristic of a value accommodation. The rooms have a balcony or patio depending on the level where they are located.
The resort has three salt water swimming pools for a therapeutic, rejuvenating swim on your coastal travels in Africa.
There is an in-house gym where you can work out, and the recreational center equipped with a pool table, table tennis table and dartboard.

Dining:

The hotel serves adequate meals buffet-style in the resort restaurant.
They offer you traditional African cuisine with a sea-food option and range of Italian preparations including pasta (A good number of guests are from Italy, and the hotel does lack demographic diversity dependent on the season).
The kitchen uses fused ingredients and platters of special Swahili and Indian food are served on specific days of the week.
The resort also has a bar located beside the lounge where you can enjoy drinks while listening to live musical performances. You also have the option of ordering cool drinks at the poolside bar while sunbathing in the sunbeds or lazily floating in the water.
