Day 1 – Entebbe/Kampala/Jinja to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - Murchison Falls National Park. (LD)

• NOTE: If you do not wish to track the rhinos then please let us know and tour prices will be altered accordingly. If you do not track the rhino you have the option to stop for lunch at a small road-side café or at Amuka Lodge which lies within the Ziwa Rhino Conservancy. Again, please let us know which you prefer.
• Departing at 6.30am you will head north from Kampala, Entebbe or Jinja to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your morning walking safari. Tracking the breeding population of rhino in the sanctuary is a rare treat. This group of rhino is under 24 hour guard as they are the future of the reintroduction program to return the rhino to Uganda’s national parks. Some great news though!Since their arrival more than three babies have been born. A few other inhabitants of the sanctuary include vervet monkey, bushbuck and the beautiful crowned crane.
• After your walk, you will have lunch then head further north to Murchison Falls National Park. On your way into the park you will stop at the top of Murchison Falls to view the cleft where the Nile converges to force itself through a nine meter gorge with impressive force. Below the falls the crocodiles wait to catch the fish that are washed down through the tight channel. You will then proceed through the game park arriving in time to set up and enjoy a few sundowners at your camp or lodge.

Day 2 - Murchison Falls National Park. (BLD)

• Day will be spent in Murchison Falls National Park, you will start the day with a morning game drive to the game rich delta region. An early rise will allow you to catch the first ferry across the Nile. Hopefully you will see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and lions as well as antelope species such as the Uganda kob, oribi and bushbuck. If you are lucky you may also spot the unusual Patas monkey or leopards. You will drive throughout the morning before retiring to your camp/lodge during the heat of the day.
• In the afternoon you will take a relaxing and beautiful afternoon cruise up the Nile to view the falls from below. Not only are the views from the bottom of the falls spectacular, but you will again have the chance to see elephants, buffaloes ,bushbucks, crocodiles, and a large variety of water birds. After the cruise you will return to camp in time for sundowners and dinner.

Day 3 - Murchison to Budongo Forest Chimpanzee Trek to Jinja. (BLD)

• You must be ready to leave at 6am to head to Budongo Forest for your chimpanzee trek. This beautiful tropical rainforest is known for its biodiversity and hosts over 400 different species of plants, 24 species of mammal, 360 species of bird and 300 species of butterfly; all of which animate the forest with color. There are also 9 different primates in the forest canopy, including a population of over 600 chimpanzees. 115kms of nature trails have been made through the forest to enable the tracking of the habituated chimpanzee troops. Other primates that can be observed include the black-and-white colobus monkey, olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys and the grey-cheeked mangabey.
• Several communities of chimps have been habituated to human contact and the park is the center of chimpanzee research. For chimpanzee tracking you set off at 8am to track a habituated group with a park ranger. Once you find the chimps you will spend an hour following them through the forest. Please make sure you bring long pants, a light long sleeve shirt, walking shoes and long socks to tuck over your pants as there may be biting ants on the trails. You will also need a water bottle, light rain jacket (seasonal) and insect repellent for the walk.
• The male chimp can reach heights of up to 1.7 meters when standing, and weighs as much as 70 kilograms. The female is somewhat smaller. Chimpanzees live in large multi-male and multi-female social groups called communities. Within a community there is a definite social hierarchy which becomes obvious during sightings. Typically there is a dominant male referred to as the Alpha male who controls the group and and maintains order during any disputes. Female chimpanzees also have a hierarchy and high-ranking females will often get first access to resources. The chimps are very vocal and before you see them you will hear them using the pant-hoot calls to communicate with each other
• After your walk you will lunch in Masindi before heading onwards to Jinja. Your accommodation choices are all on the banks of the beautiful Nile River. You  will spend the next two nights in the adventure capital of East Africa.

Day 4 – Jinja. (B)

• The day today belongs entirely to you. Jinja offers a whole range of adrenalin activities as well as a selection of community service options and relaxing cruises, walks or bike rides.
• The current March 2015 price list for Jinja activities is as below we will provide transfers from your accommodation to your pre booked activities.

• Please note the Jet boat ONLY runs on a minimum of four bookings.

Day 5 - Jinja to Entebbe. (B)

• Safari Wildz will arrange your transport from Jinja to Kampala or Entebbe. It is advisable to book evening flights out so as you can use the day to take part in any other activity or just to relax by the river or in one of the many cafes on Jinja mainstreet.
• Please note that you need to allow at least four hours for your transfer to Entebbe due to Kampala Traffic.
