The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a non-governmental Pan African organisation with chapters in 33 African countries. FAWE’s headquarter is in Nairobi.
The organization has for the past 30 years advocated for the right to education for girls and over 3 million girls have benefitted from scholarships by FAWE (http://fawe.org/about-fawe/).
FAWE relies on different development partners to fund her projects. In 2017 the organisation launched a fund known as African Girls Education Fund (AGEF) meant to help more girls access schools, be retained in school and transition to higher education levels of education. FAWE does not only support girls but 20% of her investment goes to support bright and needy boys from various parts of Africa.
This year the organisation will host a charity Gala Dinner to increase the resources for AGEF. The dinner will bring together over 400 guests drawn from all over Africa comprising governments Institutions and representatives, Civil Society Organisations, development partners, corporate companies well as FAWE National Chapters, alumni, member and friends of FAWE.
