Manu Dibango at Koroga was LIT!

Hot on the heels of Koffi Olomide’s electrifying performance in March, Koroga served up some of Nairobi’s best live acts.

First up was Edward Parseen featuring the different faces Band and June Gachui. Together they got the crowd dancing and moving. June’s talent is remarkable with amazing vocals and a palpable stage presence. The was also a surprise performance by Karen ‘Kaz’ Lucas.

Next up, Maurice Kirya. The very well put together artist from Uganda scintillated fans with hits such as ‘Blue Dress’ and fan favourite ‘Never Been Loved’. For ‘Never Been Loved’ he invited Aaron ‘Krucial Keys’ Rimbui and together they had the audience on their feet.

However the highlight of the show was Cameroonian jazz legend Manu Dibango and his band the Soul Makossa Gang. Famous for the hit ‘Aye Africa’, the musician belted out smooth tunes on his sax backed by his wonderful vocalists. His performance made it hard to believe that he is 82 years old as he moved with the energy and zeal of a man many years younger.

All in all it proved to be fantastic showing with the rain holding out to make this event a success. To check out more photos of the event, visit our Facebook page today.
